Brian Hawkins,  Creative/Brand Manager for Smithville Telephone, gave a presentation on the social and professional aspects of web-based social media and discussed how to use them for personal, business and career networking.

Bob DeVoe (SMUG’s Webmaster) presented the ins and outs of web page creation using iWeb, a program in Apple’s iLife suite.

Marc Kerr continued his June presentation Online Security, a Few Tips, this time covering File Vault and other techniques for securing Macs and their data from theft or loss (Notes of Marc’s presentation are available in the Past Meeting Handouts page).

Our annual picnic took place, from 5:30 to 8:00 PM at the Sycamore Shelter in Lower Cascades Park. SMUG provided soft drinks, food to grill (hamburgers, veggieburgers, etc.), and all the fixings. Others brought appetizers, main course items and deserts to share.
